Maternity Portraits

We love being part of this extraordinary time and want to create some enduring memories for you to cherish forever.

Pregnancy is one of those key milestones, and it is a once or twice in a lifetime moment that you and your family experience, and these portraits are about that moment.

Your Maternity Session

Recording your bump is best done at about the 33-week mark. This is when you will probably still feel comfortable, and the bump is definitely there.

Mostly your session will take place in the comfort of our studio; it is a relaxing space where you can be at ease, and we can achieve some stunning shots.

The sessions are not rushed so you can feel completely at ease.

You might want a completely private session, and it might be that you want your partner involved, it could also include other children in some of the shots.

You may feel most comfortable showing the bump through a tight-fitting jumper, or exposing the bump, or doing some more creative shots in the nude, whatever you are comfortable with ewe can still achieve some great shots.

I took my five year old son (who was in a bit of a grump) to see Andrew for a photo session and within minutes he had cheered him up and even got him laughing! The entire thing was a joy and something I'd certainly recommend. Going through the photos a week later (without my son thankfully!), I saw Andrew had really captured his spirit and I was delighted with the photos. I will certainly be going back!

I wish I'd known Redpath Studios existed when I got married!! Andy is so professional, yet puts you at ease and made the hour photo shoot with my 8 month old baby, an absolute joy. I would definitely use then again and hope in a couple of years to make use of the beautiful grounds and have some outside family shots taken with my other son. Also, love the link Andy sends through with the pictures so that you can share these with friends and family. I'm looking forward to picking up the originals. If you are looking for a photographer who makes you feel relaxed, look no further than Redpath Studios. Thank you so much. Natalie Costa

Booking your Appointment

Select a date and time

Frequently asked questions.

When is the best time for my maternity portraits?

This time will vary for each lady. However, as a general idea at approximately 33 weeks, you will still be feeling comfortable, and the bump is looking good by that time.

However, we have photographed some maternity portraits right up to the 38-week mark.

Ideally booking your portrait a few weeks beforehand is best but can usually fit you in if time becomes pressing.

What should we wear?

White or pastels are always a good choice and something that accentuates the bump.

A long flowing dress or nightgown, or a large jumper. Depending on what photographs you would like your underwear may show in some of the pictures, so consider these items as well.

When will I be able to view the photographs?

We know you are excited to see their pictures, so we arrange a viewing usually one or two weeks after the session at the studio.

Will I have to take my clothes off?

No, but if you feel comfortable doing and want some shots with little or no clothing we can do these for you.

How do we book?

All of our sessions are by appointment. You can book online by selecting date and time in the Appointment calendar above.

Our contact details where you will find our address, email, phone number and social media details, all of which are great ways to discuss your upcoming portrait session.

How long are the maternity portrait sessions?

We never rush your sitting, and we will always ensure we have enough time to create images you will love, however, as a guide would expect the session to last about one hour.

How can I pay for my order?

Payment for your order can be made by cash, cheque or credit card and we also accept American Express for those who wish to add to their Air Miles.

If you have any other questions you might find the answer on our FAQ’s Page
